I Want to Referee

I Want to Referee

Match officials (also known as referees) are important to soccer. They keep sport safe, fair, and fun. They are knowledgeable, trained, passionate, and dedicated. And, our competitions cannot be held without them.

There are many benefits to refereeing. Refereeing offers:

A rewarding way to give back to the game you love.
A great way to stay connected to the beautiful game
An opportunity for personal growth by practicing skills in organization, time management, conflict resolution, and people management.
The opportunity to make some money.
The opportunity to represent your community or province at regional/provincial/national/international levels.
The opportunity to develop your understanding and appreciation for the game.
The opportunity to meet new people and find new networks.
The opportunity to feel good about yourself and your role in the game.
The opportunity to get physically active.
A great way to positively impact youth and other community members.

Where can I referee?

After you have taken the course and are registered for the season, you can choose to referee just within your club/community, or you can also travel to referee games at other clubs/communities.

How do I get started?

You must be 14 years old to become a referee.

If you have never taken a Referee Clinic before, you must take the Entry Level Clinic.

The Entry Level Referee Clinic is FREE and there is no registration fee for the first year.

If you are an Eastern Eagles SC registered player, the club will pay for your annual referee registration.

Contact the club at easterneaglesoccer@hotmail.com.

Please follow this link to the PEI Soccer Association web site and find all information under the REFEREE tab.

How do I get registered as a referee?

If taking a clinic for the first time and successfully completing the clinic, you will be provided with a link to Register.
